Launch of Indonesia Bond Market Guide 2017

Coinciding with the 40th Anniversary of Indonesia Capital Market Reactivation that fell on Thursday, August 10, 2017, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) launched Indonesia Bond Market Guide 2017 (Indonesia BMG 2017).

Indonesia BMG 2017 is an update of Indonesia BMG 2012 and it was compiled by the ADB, with assistance from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the Indonesia Central Securities Depository (KSEI), the Indonesia Stock Market Clearing House (KPEI) and The Indonesia Bond Pricing Agency (IBPA).

The book was designed as guidelines for both local and foreign investors on understanding development of bond markets in Indonesia, and to increase the number and value of bond and sukuk (Islamic bond) transactions.

Contents of Indonesia BMG 2017 include legal and regulatory frameworks, characteristics of the Indonesian bond market, infrastructure, costs and taxation, market size and statistics, the Indonesian Islamic bond market, challenges and opportunities, as well as recent developments and future direction.
