PRESS RELEASE

OJK HANDS OVER SUSPECT AND EVIDENCE OF PT ASURANSI JIWA PROLIFE CASE TO SOUTH JAKARTA DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Jakarta, 15 July 2026. Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) handed over suspect and evidence (Stage II) of insurance crime allegation case of PT Asuransi Jiwa Prolife Indonesia (f.k.a. PT Asuransi Jiwa Indosurya Sukses/PT AJIS) to the South Jakarta District Attorney. The handover follows up the completion of case files (P.21) as declared by the Public Prosecutors.

OJK investigators named HS, the controlling shareholder of PT Asuransi Jiwa Prolife Indonesia, as the suspect in this case.

The suspect was handed over to the Class IIA Gunung Sindur Special Penitentiary in Bogor on Wednesday, as HS had already been detained in a fraud and embezzlement case at the Indosurya Savings and Loan Cooperative (KSP) based on a court ruling. Meanwhile, evidence was handed over to the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office.

This case began with an alleged insurance crime committed by deliberately ignoring and/or failing to carry out the written orders of the OJK as stated in the Letter of the Chief Executive of the OJK Insurance, Guarantee and Pension Fund Supervisory Agency Number S-45/D.05/2023 dated October 13, 2023. The letter ordered the company to fulfill its obligation to pay compensation to policyholders amounting to IDR 566.24 billion according to the monthly financial report as of September 30, 2023.

As a follow-up measure, OJK revoked PT Asuransi Jiwa Indosurya Sukses' business license on 2 November 2023.

In the investigation, OJK also confiscated the following assets to recover policyholders' rights, in accordance with the laws and regulations:

  1. Eleven land and building units in North Sumatera, Makassar, and Bogor, West Java, with value estimation of Rp20.9 billion;
  2. Cash in the form of deposit amounting to Rp21.065 billion, under the name of another party; and
  3. Share ownership of a company with value estimation of Rp72 billion.

The suspect's actions are indicted with violations against Article 54 letter b of Law Number 4 of 2023 on The Development and Strengthening of Financial Sector and/or Article 53 paragraph (1) Law Number 21 of 2011 on Indonesia Financial Services Authority, facing 6 years maximum of imprisonment and minimum sanction of Rp15 billion.

In handling this case, OJK coordinates and cooperates with law enforcement and other related institutions, such as the Indonesian National Police, Attorney of the Republic of Indonesia, Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK), and Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (BPN).

OJK will continue to strengthen professional, firm, and consistent law enforcement efforts against alleged crimes in the financial services sector as part of its commitment to maintaining the sector's integrity, enhancing industry governance, and strengthening consumer and public protection.
