Kominfo Encourages HR Skills to Optimize Digital Connectivity
- 12 Feb 2024
Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The government is making various efforts to accelerate massive and even digital connectivity throughout Indonesia.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, emphasized the importance of human resource (HR) skills in optimizing the use of digital connectivity in a positive direction.
"Broadly speaking, after encouraging connectivity, then building a number of data centers which are the government's priority programs, developing digitally capable human resources is as important as building infrastructure connectivity," said Nezar, quoted from the kominfo.go.id page, Wednesday (20 /12/2023).
For him, human resources who are capable of utilizing digital technology will have a rapid impact on the digital ecosystem. This is in line with the dynamics of information activities in the digital world which are growing rapidly due to increased connectivity and the growth of social media platforms.
"The first is internet users, connectivity is getting better, there are now 215 million internet users, 77 percent of our population, secondly, social media platforms are growing extraordinary too," said Nezar.
According to Nezar, Kominfo has been implementing the Digital Literacy Program for the last five years and has been attended by 22 million participants. Meanwhile, there is also a Digital Talent Scholarship Program which collaborates with international training providers to provide digital skills training.
"Through this program, people will be more digitally competent by having a series of abilities to use digital devices, communication applications and internet networks to access and manage information, communicate and even become a problem solving tool," said Nezar.
Nezar really appreciates the launch of the book "Reason Before Clicking" which really helps increase people's understanding regarding developments in the digital world today.
"There are a number of problems that arise there, the first is disinformation and misinformation, but what is even more important for users of digital technology is awareness of data," added Nezar.
Awareness of data security is very important because all platforms are trying to accumulate as much user data as possible.
"We know that platforms are all moving to try to collect data and data has become a very valuable thing in the 21st century," he said.
