OJK PROMOTES MSME WOMEN TO BECOME FINANCIAL LITERACY AMBASSADORS

OJK PEDULI Training of Trainers (ToT) for IWAPI Members

Jakarta, August 12, 2025. Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Indonesian Businesswomen Association (IWAPI) held Training of Trainers (ToT) for Indonesia Financial Literacy Ambassadorship Drivers of OJK (OJK PEDULI) for IWAPI members in hybrid manner at OJK Office, Jakarta, Tuesday. The training is a part of OJK's continuous measures to promote financial literacy among women and MSME actors as priority segments in the 2021-2025 National Strategy on Financial Literacy in Indonesia (SNLKI).

In her remarks, Chief Executive of Market Conduct Supervision, Education, and Consumer Protection of OJK Friderica Widyasari Dewi stated that MSME sector plays a major role in the national economy. MSME has been proven to be a major player in the economic activities, the biggest job vacancies provider, and an innovator of new market.

“Women are drivers of the economy, especially in families/households and the community. IWAPI members are mostly MSME women entrepreneurs, which are included in our priority segment. We hope to see more IWAPI members take part in OJK PEDULI as Financial Literacy Ambassadorship Drivers in the future," Friderica said.

Furthermore, Friderica emphasized financial education improvement among Indonesian women to increase common welfare and promote responsible financial inclusion as the objectives of this event.

“I believe IWAPI is a good strategic partner for OJK, to join hands with us in educating Indonesian women, developing Indonesia's livelihood through women, and enhance the MSME ecosystem through responsible financial inclusion," said Friderica.

Meanwhile, Chairwoman of the Board of IWAPI extended her appreciation of the collaboration between OJK and IWAPI in promoting financial literacy ambassadors.

“OJK consistently supports MSME sector developments and easily comprehensible financial education. We are ready to become OJK's ambassadors in educating businesswomen for better financial management," Nita stated.

More than 500 IWAPI members from all Indonesia participated in the event on site and online. IWAPI-fostered MSMEs, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, and Certified Financial Planners also attended.

The strategic collaboration between OJK and IWAPI, MSME women entrepreneurs also became agents of change in promoting financial literacy and inclusion in their community in addition to economic actors. The ToT is expected to realize a community with financial intelligence and high competitiveness with contributions for continuous national economic growth.
