OJK MANIFESTS ONE-OJK TRANSFORMATION FOR INDONESIA DEVELOPMENT
The On-Site Ceremony of 78th Independence Day of Republic of Indonesia
Jakarta, August 17, 2023. Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of OJK Mahendra Siregar expresses OJK's continuous spirit to carry out organizational transformation in order to become the state institution with major contribution for Indonesia's development.
“We have formulated our collectively transformative measures which turns OJK into a better and adaptive organization in accordance with the current development and stakeholders' interest. Improvement on organizational, HR, culture, business process, and information system aspects as well as the law enforcement strengthening to solidify the financial system integrity," Mahendra emphasizes in his speech during the ceremony of 78th RI Independence Day with all OJK employees in Lapangan Banteng, Jakarta, Thursday.
He considers OJK's internal strengthening and integrity enforcement should also carried out from the governance aspect, including internal audit based on risk and information technology, prioritized and strategized risk management, the review and consultation function, as well as the Anti-Bribery Management System implementation (SMAP) in all Work Unit.
Various refinements on the regulations, supervisions, and Financial Services Institution permits as well as consumers protection are also continuously carried out to support national financial system and economy system stability.
Furthermore, in accordance with the mandate of P2SK Law, OJK has established a work unit coordination for integrated supervision and permission, strengthened market conduct supervision, establishment of work units that integrate Financial Services Institutions reporting as well as data and statistics management, and regional OJK office's structure reorganization.
“Let us all OJK people support the transformation and realize One-OJK wholeheartedly, to fulfil the stakeholders' expectation and to advance toward the development of Indonesia Maju," said Mahendra.
Mahendra also stated that the spirit should be realized in action to carve the meaning of Indonesia's Independence Day meaning, “Terus Melaju Untuk Indonesia Maju", including encouraging economic growth in regions as the income for national economy stronghold.
In the first half of 2023, national economy growth machine has shifted to investment and household consumption, thereby keeping the economic growth needed by the economic power in the regions.
“Economic growth development in Provinces, Regencies, Districts and Villages are no longer optional, but the main requirements for Indonesia to keep growing continuously. Quoting from Muhammad Hatta, Indonesia glows, not from the large torches in Jakarta, but because of the small candles in the villages," said Mahendra.
The 78th RI Independence Day Ceremony is also held in all 35 Regional OJK Offices.
