OJK ENCOURAGES FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR TO STRENGTHEN REGIONAL ECONOMIES
Inauguration of the Head of the OJK Office for the Bangka Belitung Islands Province
Pangkal Pinang, 2 February 2026. Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) held the inauguration of the new Head of the OJK Office for the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Eko Wijaya, at the Pasir Padi Room of the Governor's Office of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Pangkal Pinang, on Monday.
Present at the inauguration were the Deputy Commissioner for International Relations, AML-CFT, and Regional Affairs of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan Republik Indonesia, Bambang Mukti Riyadi, accompanied by the Acting Regional Secretary, Fery Afriyanto, as well as a number of regional government officials, leaders of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and leaders of the Financial Services Industry in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
In his remarks, Bambang Mukti Riyadi stated that this inauguration serves as a momentum to continue strengthening OJK's role in the regions, while upholding integrity, professionalism, and increasingly improved public services.
“Going forward, the challenges in carrying out OJK's duties will become increasingly complex. Along with the expansion of OJK's authority following the enactment of the P2SK Bill and rising public expectations, this demands strong, responsive leadership capable of building effective collaboration at the regional level," said Bambang.
Bambang added that the successful implementation of the duties and functions of OJK regional offices greatly depends on the ability of leaders and staff to maintain integrity, strengthen governance, and ensure effective communication and coordination with local governments, related agencies/institutions, the financial services industry, and all elements of society. Synergy among stakeholders will support a conducive, innovative, and productive working environment.
The Acting Regional Secretary, delivering remarks on behalf of the Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, stated that OJK's role is vital as the conductor harmonizing the financial services sector. OJK's presence is not only as an administrative supervisor, but also as a driving force for regional economic development, particularly in accelerating financial literacy and inclusion, strengthening financing for productive sectors, and enhancing consumer protection in the Bangka Belitung Islands region.
“Today marks an important moment to strengthen synergy among OJK, Regional Governments, Ministries/Agencies, and all stakeholders in maintaining the stability of the financial services sector, encouraging regional economic growth, and improving public welfare. With an inclusive and integrity-based financial system, we are optimistic that the Bangka Belitung Islands Province can continue to grow and develop sustainably," said Fery.
