Background

The Industry 4.0 Revolution has had a major impact on industry players for which were originally carried out in automation, then changed to become completely digital. Digital Transformation is one of the top priorities that needs to be carried out by various companies, including companies in the Financial Services Industry. The digital transformation as a whole will change the organization's strategy in achieving its vision and mission, including those related to human resource competencies.
The flow of digital transformation has been moving very fast in the last few years and also driven by the covid-19 pandemic since March 2020 which demands changes that don't only have to be fast, but have to be now. This phenomenon requires the industry to have leaders who are literate in technology in order to be able to adapt to these changes. The industry needs digital leadership that is oriented towards innovation and creativity in order to remain competitive. The financial services sector (SJK) as an industry with very strict regulations locally and globally has been affected, among others, by changes in the business model, competencies and leadership needed.
Digital leadership is not only needed for companies with an IT background, but can be applied in the financial services industry. Digital leadership is a process in which leaders are able to direct and become navigators in implementing digital transformation programs so that they can run successfully and achieve the expected targets. From the results of a survey conducted by Deloitte in 2017, it was stated that 42% of large companies said that company success in the digital era was determined by leadership development as the main focus.
Digital leadership in the financial services sector is urgently needed to ensure that the digital transformation program that is currently underway can provide optimal results, be able to overcome all the problems and challenges faced, and create new opportunities. Based on the foregoing, it is necessary to develop leadership that has a digital leadership basis in order to deliver digital transformation programs to the gateway to success.
