Minister of Finance: Investment in Indonesian Human Resources is Increasingly Important and Urgent
- 01 Apr 2024
Jakarta, 5/3/2024 Ministry of Finance – Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati emphasized that investment in human resources in Indonesia must be in line with existing changes, challenges and opportunities. The Minister of Finance conveyed this at the Mandiri Investment Forum 2024 event which was held in Jakarta, Tuesday (5/3).
“For Indonesia, investment in human resources is not only necessary, but this is becoming increasingly urgent. "Health, education, social security, and how we will provide infrastructure development, including basic services are very important," said the Minister of Finance.
The Minister of Finance explained that the APBN plays a very important role in directing and shaping policies, especially those related to sustainable development.
“Fiscal policy must be credible and sound, it must also be responsive. "The soundness and credibility of fiscal policy are necessary conditions so that Indonesia can use fiscal tools to overcome various very difficult and fundamental structural problems in Indonesia, including in this case climate change and human resources," said the Minister of Finance.
According to the Minister of Finance, Indonesia must ensure that all fiscal instruments, both in terms of income, expenditure and financing, are able to create stability in allocation and distribution.
"One thing that is no less important is creating equal distribution of services, especially for every child so that they can continue to enjoy the same quality of basic services. So, every baby and child living in any region of Indonesia has the right to get better quality services, including infrastructure, education and health. "This is one of the most important challenges in our fiscal toolkit," said the Minister of Finance. (dep/al)
