On Wednesday, November 22, 2017, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) issued OJK's Board of Commissioners Decree No. Kep-59/D.04/2017 on the Islamic Securities List (DES). The decree was issued based on the results of the regular review that the OJK conducted on issuers' and public companies' financial statements, supporting data and information, and the previous DES. The Islamic Securities List provides an investment guide for its users, such as investment managers who manage Sharia mutual funds, Sharia insurers, and investors who prefer investing in Islamic Securities. The list also serves as a reference for Sharia index providers such as the Indonesia Stock Exchange when publishing the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) and the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI).

A total of 375 Sharia-compliant securities are included in the Islamic Securities List and they include shares belonged to issuers and public companies, and other Islamic securities. The data that the OJK reviewed for preparing the list came from financial statements for the period ended June 30, 2017, and other supporting data, i.e. written data from issuers or public companies.

The OJK periodically publishes the Islamic Securities List at the end of May and November, and the list will be effective from June 1 and December 1, respectively. Moreover, on ad hoc basis, a new list will be issued when an issuer's or a public company's registration statement has become effective and its shares have met the Islamic securities criteria, or when an issuer or a public company takes corporate actions, or has information or material facts that make it satisfy or not satisfy such criteria.

Once the latest Islamic Securities List has taken effect, OJK's Board of Commissioners Decree No. KEP-19/D.04/2017 dated May 23, 2017, on the Islamic Securities List (DES) will be revoked and declared null and void. The new list will come into force on December 1, 2017.
