OJK Announces 2016 Sustainable Finance Awards Winners

Financial Services Authority, Jakarta, December 19, 2016: The Financial Services Authority (OJK) on Monday (Dec. 19) announced the 2016 Sustainable Finance Awards winners in four categories, including banking, capital market, the non-banking financial industry, and best of the best. A total of 24 nominees, including 10 banks, competed for the awards.

The banking sector was divided into three categories. Bank Rakyat Indonesia won the 2016 Sustainable Finance Award for BUKU 4 category (banks with minimum core capital of IDR 30 trillion), whereas the Regional Development Bank of West Java and Banten took the same award for BUKU 3 category (banks with minimum core capital of IDR 5 trillion up to less than IDR 30 trillion), and BNI Syariah received the award for BUKU 1 and 2 category (banks with minimum core capital of IDR 1 trillion up to less than IDR 5 trillion).

In Capital Market sector, for Public Companies category, the award went to Perusahaan Gas Negara (state-owned gas company). Mandiri Sekuritas, having beaten the other two nominees—Danareksa Sekuritas and Insights Investment Indonesia—accepted the award for the Securities Companies category.

In Non-Banking Financial Industry, Adira Dinamika Insurance picked up the 2016 Sustainable Finance Award for the category of Insurance Companies. Pegadaian (state-owned pawn shop) collected a similar trophy for Other Financial Services Institutions category.

Bank Rakyat Indonesia also gained the highest score for each of its nominations and thus, was named Best of The Best at the 2016 Sustainable Finance Awards.

The 2016 Sustainable Finance Awards judging panel and OJK's Board of Commissioners congratulated all winners for their achievements at this event.
